What is holistic pelvic care?
Holistic Pelvic Care™ is a transformative approach to addressing common issues that women experience in the core of their bodies. Using both physical and energetic tools, a Holistic Pelvic Care practitioner can work directly to asses and gently restore balance to the pelvic bowl.
Women commonly seek out this therapy for help with:
- Pelvic Pain
- PMS
- Endometriosis
- Uterine Fibroids
- Postpartum Recovery
- Pelvic Muscle Weakness
- Urinary Leakage
- Uterine Prolapse
- Pelvic Heaviness or Instability
- Low Back/SI Injury
- Recovery From Trauma or Sexual Abuse
Is it painful?
During Pelvic massage sessions, practitioners always take great care to gently and respectfully follow the lead of the body. Because a woman’s own physical and verbal cues guide the depth and direction of this hands-on work, it should never be painful.
What can I expect during a session?
In the first session, pelvic anatomy is discussed and all questions and concerns are addressed before an intervaginal assessment of the pelvic muscles. This assessment is followed by treatments that incorporate a combination of intervaginal massage, myofascial release, trigger points, breathwork, and visualization to restore balance. In follow-up meetings, brief re-assessments are followed by longer, more comprehensive treatments.
What can I expect after a session?
On a physical level, pelvic massage increases blood and energy flow to the core of a woman’s body which supports overall function and balance. Thus women often report significant relief from or even resolution of physical symptoms. On an energetic and emotional level, many also experience a greater sense of relaxation, centeredness, embodiment, and internal strength. The more rooted we are in our core, the more empowered we feel to rise up and meet life.
